  2. announced the availability of an HDI (high density interface) SCSI (small
  3. computer systems interface) cable assembly for the Powerbook Macintosh
  4. notebook computer. The PowerBook HDI SCSI cable assembly is built to Apple
  5. specifications and manufactured under an agreement with Apple which
  6. permits Anco to supply the product to third party OEMs and distributors.

  8. The PowerBook HDI SCSI cable assembly provides Powerbook Macintosh
  9. notebooks with high speed access to LANs through the HDI SCSI 3-pin port
  10. located at the back of the computer. Users can daisy chain up to six
  11. additional peripherals such as a video interface to a large screen
  12. monitor, a scanner, an external hard drive or tape backup unit to take
  13. full advantage of the PowerBook's built-in SCSI capabilities.

  15. Anco offers two versions of the new cable assembly to meet the needs of
  16. peripheral manufacturers using either of the popular industry standards.
  17. For those companies building products based on the Centronics 50
  18. connector, Anco offers either male or female models for connection to the
  19. network, peripherals or to a docking station. For manufacturers whose
  20. product lines require the defacto DB-25 connector, Anco provides this
  21. popular and less expensive solution. Custom solutions for companies using
  22. their own proprietary connectors are also available for high-volume
  23. orders.

  26. pricing for 1000 piece orders begins at less than $25 per unit. All
  27. products are UL approved and FCC Class B shielded.
