BOSTON, Feb. 11, 1992, NetWorld Booth #4703 -- Anco Corporation today
announced the availability of an HDI (high density interface) SCSI (small
computer systems interface) cable assembly for the Powerbook Macintosh
notebook computer. The PowerBook HDI SCSI cable assembly is built to Apple
specifications and manufactured under an agreement with Apple which
permits Anco to supply the product to third party OEMs and distributors.
The PowerBook HDI SCSI cable assembly provides Powerbook Macintosh
notebooks with high speed access to LANs through the HDI SCSI 3-pin port
located at the back of the computer. Users can daisy chain up to six
additional peripherals such as a video interface to a large screen
monitor, a scanner, an external hard drive or tape backup unit to take
full advantage of the PowerBook's built-in SCSI capabilities.
Anco offers two versions of the new cable assembly to meet the needs of
peripheral manufacturers using either of the popular industry standards.
For those companies building products based on the Centronics 50
connector, Anco offers either male or female models for connection to the
network, peripherals or to a docking station. For manufacturers whose
product lines require the defacto DB-25 connector, Anco provides this
popular and less expensive solution. Custom solutions for companies using
their own proprietary connectors are also available for high-volume
orders.
The PowerBook HDI SCSI cable assembly is now available. OEM and distributor
pricing for 1000 piece orders begins at less than $25 per unit. All
products are UL approved and FCC Class B shielded.
Anco Corporation provides complete networking solutions for
budget-sensitive applications where reliable, high quality communications
are required. Anco manufactures hardware for both Ethernet and Token-Ring
networks. The company has recently expanded its family of products offered
directly to end users under the Anco Corporation label to complement its
OEM sales efforts. Multi-station access units (MAUs), hubs, network
interface cards (NICs), connectors, transceivers, baluns, and filters as
well as cables, and other networking accessories are available from Anco.
Established in 1979, Anco Corporation, based in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.,
provides sales, distribution and service to customers worldwide. For
